COVID-19 Information & Updates
At Oakey Family Dental the health, wellbeing and safety of our patients, their families and our people is our priority.
We fully understand that our patients will be concerned about COVID-19, and we want to assure you that we are closely monitoring the evolving situation and following the guidelines issued by the Australian Dental Association and other relevant Government advice.
As such, Oakey Family Dental will only be providing limited levels of emergency care. Dr Chris is in Oakey and on call for emergency appointments.
As members of the Australian Dental Association (ADA), our dentists take the safety of our patients, our staff and their families very seriously. We follow ADA Guidelines for Infection Control, which includes minimising the risk of transmitting viruses including the COVID-19. Our protocols include:
Public areas are cleaned and disinfected frequently, including door handles and bathrooms.
Reading materials and toys have been removed from waiting areas.
As always, we will maintain our very high infection control standards and use of Personal Protective Equipment to protect both patients and workers.
We are asking, where possible, that only the patient with the appointment enter the clinical area. We are also asking that only one family member or guardian attend the appointment with the patient. We are also asking, if possible, for patients to wait outside the clinic or in their vehicle prior to their scheduled appointment if there are other people in the waiting area. This is to meet the social distancing rules currently in force and to minimise contact between families.
We have placed a number of hand sanitisers around our surgery and we ask that you to use these when entering the waiting room, clinical areas, when leaving the practice or as requested by the dentist.
Our number one priority is to ensure the health and safety of our patients, staff and clinicians. We appreciate your understanding in these challenging times. If you have a cough, are experiencing shortness of breath, have a fever, have returned from any overseas travel or have had contact with someone returning from overseas travel in the past 14 days please call us on (07) 4564 7115 to reschedule your appointment.
We will continue to monitor the unfolding COVID-19 situation keep you updated on any developments through our website and social media pages.
